Building Blocks Therapy

Caitlyn Kambic joined the Building Blocks Therapy team in June 2023. She earned her Master of Social Work Degree in 2016 from The University of Pittsburgh and became certified as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2023. After graduating Pittsburgh Caitlyn worked as an early intervention therapist at the Center for Autism in Philadelphia providing play therapy to toddlers.  She then worked as a school counselor for 4 years at a specialized school for students aged 5-21 experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, and educational challenges, as well as developmental delays. Caitlyn regularly participates in continuing education related to a range of topics, including autism, play therapy, social/emotional development in toddlers and children, toddler/children mental health.

Caitlyn is passionate in teaching children, especially toddlers, emotional regulation, frustration tolerance, and appropriate social/communication skills. She believes every caregiver can learn how to be the place of calm for their child and provide their child with the necessary skills to handle challenging emotions, even through the most difficult of tantrums. She is passionate about helping to give the caregivers the tools they need, as well as providing toddlers with appropriate coping strategies to help develop a stronger connection and positive relationship within the family unit and with others. Caitlyn loves being creative with intervention strategies and finding playful ways for children to appropriately engage in everyday routines and meet treatment goals. Caitlyn is fluent in sign language and has used sign language with her 2 daughters starting at age 6 months. She loves using sign language in early intervention and providing children with a functional way to request their wants and needs.
